NEWS NOTES
š¬ Lights, Camera, Cargo
CTVās Your Morning is waking up in Saint John today. Host Lindsey Deluce is in town doing live and recorded segments for the national show, with a spotlight on our cityās growing rep as a major cargo hub. Expect appearances from Mayor Donna Reardon and Port CEO Craig Bell Estabrooks, plus a little national love for the harbour - and maybe even a glimpse of the west sideās early morning battle through Simms Corner.
The crew also stopped by Glassroots yesterday, New Brunswickās only glassblowing studio , located on Canterbury St. They say they had a blast with Lindsey, and their segment should also be included on TV this morning.
āØBig Boost for Romero House
Romero House just landed a $1.1-million boost from McWane Canada (aka Clow Canada), and director Evelyn McNulty is thrilled, because it means space. Lots of it. The Brunswick Drive soup kitchen served a record 148,000 meals last year and has been running out of room to do it all. The expansion will add proper storage, freeing up space to bring back services paused during COVID, like the clothing and health rooms. The donation also fulfills a long-time wish from Evelynās late mother, Carolyn, who founded Romero House in 1982.
