🔋 Mitsubishi Just Made Going Hybrid a No-Brainer

If you like saving cash (who doesn’t?), Loch Lomond Mitsubishi just made it ridiculously easy to drive a plug-in hybrid.
In March, you get $10,000 in instant savings on the Outlander PHEV - aka the SUV that gives you gas-sipping hybrid power without the range anxiety of full electric.
That’s right, Mitsubishi has stepped up to the plate and replaced the now defunct Federal incentive - combining that with the current Provincial Rebate and you get a total of $10k in instant savings.
That’s a huge chunk of change, and it’s not sticking around. Plus, Mitsubishi is handing out 2.99% financing, the lowest rate they’ll ever offer on plug in hybrid electric vehicles.
If you’ve been thinking about a hybrid, this is your moment. But like all great deals, it won’t last.
NEWS NOTES
🏗️ Housing Over a Parking Garage? It’s on the Table
Could the top of Peel Plaza’s parking garage be the next affordable address in uptown? Saint John Non-Profit Housing is taking a serious look at adding a three-story residential structure above the garage, offering a mix of affordable and market-rate units. The idea isn’t new - when the garage was built over a decade ago, it was designed to support housing. But back then, demand wasn’t what it is today. Now, with a new agreement in place with the city, the group is bringing in consultants to see if the plan is viable. Challenges? Plenty. Think fire escapes, building access, and, oh yeah, making sure a residential complex plays nice with an existing parking facility. If the numbers add up, this could move from concept to council agenda before year’s end.
đź’¸ Need Help With Taxes? The Library Has You Covered!
The Saint John Free Public Library is back with its FREE CVITP income tax clinic this year, and it's your chance to get your taxes done without the stress. No appointment? No problem - just drop in with your documents and ID, and you’re all set. If you or someone you know has a modest income and a simple tax situation, this clinic is for you! The team will be available every Saturday in March and April from 11am to 1:30pm. It’s first-come, first-served, so don’t wait around. Get those taxes sorted and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
🕵️‍♂️ Saints Rest Brings Noir to Uptown
Murder, missing persons, and a private eye who might just be in over his head -welcome to Saints Rest, a new neo-noir thriller set right in the fog-drenched streets of uptown Saint John. Local author Luke Francis Beirne’s latest novel follows private investigator Frank Cain as he digs into a case the police would rather leave buried. But in a city where the fog hides more than just the view, the real mystery might be Saint John itself.
Want to step into the shadows? Beirne is launching Saints Rest at the Saint John Free Public Library on March 22 at 1pm. Whether you’re a crime fiction junkie or just love seeing Saint John shine (or, in this case, brood), this one’s for you.
