Tonightâs the night everyone has been talking about - the CPKC Holiday Train rolls into Saint John, lighting up the TD Station parking lot from 6:00â6:45pm. With live music from the James Barker Band and Clerel, itâs the perfect way to kick off the seasonâbut itâs not just about the bright spectacle.
This event supports the Harbour Lights Campaign, which helps stock local food banks for winter. Admission is free, but youâre encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, cash, or even cheques to donate. Every bit counts to make a big difference for families in need.
Parking at TD Station wonât be available, but the City of Saint John has arranged free event parking starting at 5:00pm at:
Smythe Street parking lot
Peel Plaza parking garage
Long Wharf parking lot
Expect big crowds, festive cheer and caboose-shakinâ tunes!
Santa to Snarl Westside Traffic Saturday đ đ
Round 2 of the Saint John Holiday Parade Marathon kicks off Saturday with the Lancaster Santa Claus Parade! Itâs the west sideâs turn to host the jolly fella in redâand the traffic chaos that comes with him. If youâre heading that way, consider your plans carefully.
Saint John Transit will reroute several bus lines, including the #1W Lancaster Mall and #15W Harbour Bridge, from 12:30 to 2:30pm. Stops at Lancaster Mall and Fairville Boulevard will be a no-go, and delays are pretty much guaranteed. Feeling brave enough to drive? Street closures will test your holiday spirit as much as the line at the Starbyâs drive-thru.
But hey, itâs all worth it for some parade magic, right? After all, this is just 2 of 5 parades in the areaâstill to come are Quispamsis, Grand Bay-Westfield and St. Martins next weekend. (City of Saint John)
