š Family Day Fun (and Whatās Closed!)
Monday is Family Day, which means a mix of fun activities and closed doorsāso plan ahead! While thereās plenty happening around town (see Whatās Happeninā below), most municipal buildings are taking the day off, including the Saint John City Market. All ANBL stores are closed, but some agency locations will be open. In Saint John, garbage and compost collection will run as usual.
š Weāll be taking the day off too, but donāt worryāweāll be back in your inbox with a fresh issue on Tuesday. Enjoy the long weekend!
š Maestro Fresh Wes Receives 15th JUNO Nomination!
In case you havenāt heard, local resident and by far Saint Johnās most requested M.C., Maestro Fresh Wes, has just scored his 15th JUNO nomination! With 14 previous nods, 2 wins (including Rap Recording of the Year and Best Video), and a spot in the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, this time around Wes is up for Childrenās Album of the Year with Young Maestro "Rhyme Travellers". Proving that the same lyrical legend who brought us Let Your Backbone Slide is still schooling the next generation with his rhymes.
The 54th Annual JUNO Awards are taking over Vancouver on March 30, hosted by Michael BublƩ, with a final JUNO performance from Sum 41(oh, hi guys, thanks for coming out). Catch it live on CBC or CBC Gem, and cheer on Maestro to bring home another trophy to add to his already impressive collection!
