NEWS NOTES

🚙 Frustrated By Parking Uptown?

Think parking in Saint John could be better? Now’s your chance to help fix it! The City is rolling out its Comprehensive Parking Study and wants to hear from you.

Drop by the public engagement session on Tuesday, January 28, from 6pm to 8pm at 1 Market Square (former museum entrance, Level 1) to share your thoughts. From parking fees to clearer signs and less congestion, it’s your chance to help shape the future of parking on the South-Central Peninsula.

♻️ Recycling Expands to Apartments in 2025

Starting May 1, 2025, multi-family dwellings throughout the region will be able to join the recycling movement! Circular Materials is expanding its recycling program to include apartments and condos, making it easier for residents to recycle right from their building.

Here’s how it works: Property owners and managers register online, and once they’ve signed up, the recycling collector will get in touch to arrange next steps. The registration deadline is January 31, 2025 and Recycling services begin on May 1.

If you live in an apartment or condo, remind your property manager to sign up! For more details, visit Circular Materials’ website or join the info session on January 28 at 11am.

FOODIE FRIDAY
🍔 Is This the Biggest Burger in Saint John?

Tucked into 149 Union Street, Oze is serving up a burger that’s as big as your head—literally! The Oze 8" Burger is a jaw-dropping creation featuring a massive ground beef patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles on a bun so huge it looks like it could double as a bread bowl. And here’s the twist: they only make a limited number of these giant patties each day, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Oze might be small enough to earn hole-in-the-wall status, but business has been brisk since they opened two months ago. The menu’s variety—donairs, shawarma, falafel, a hearty steak sub, and some Syrian specialties made fresh—has been a hit with the lunchtime and late-night crowd alike.

As for the Oze 8" Burger? The only one we can think to compare it to is the giant inflatable burger at Market Square during Uptown Burger Week. Seriously, check it out!
